Organic bird

This is my first foray into Celtic knotwork. Phew, it's not easy! There is a spot where there are two 'overs'... sorry. It's my first try give me a break, lol!

Well I decided (after two failed inking attempts) to 'ink' with graphite... so I combined knotwork and a sketch. I thought the lines looked like vines so I colored them to hopefully make them look organic and flowy vines or wood. Keep in mind that I am learning sketching so I'm not that good at that, either.

I'm so happy with my new scanner! It scans so well!!

4H, 2B,4B, 8B graphite pencils, kneadable eraser , Q-tips and about two days worth of fiddling with it.

Completely my design, freehanded. No graphs! I did scan and flip the wing and redraw so both wings were similar in shape.
