Stylized Floral Earrings

I meant these to be poppies but they sort of remind me of cabbage roses. Thus 'stylized'.

My prized project of this week! These were hand cut from flat, 26 gauge red brass sheet. I meticulously hand textured and shaped each piece and assembled them around the twisted stamens. The stamens are tied in a 'knot' in back and soldered to the brackets (that I made). The petals and leaves have some free movement but they are secure. The texture shows faintly in the photos but these are so much prettier in real life!

These are smaller than a quarter in size. I actually got the idea from a tutorial on melted plastic flowers....I translated it to metal.
